Abstract

Present study documents distinctive service-beneficiary complex relationship which exists between Berberis and mountain wildlife. The synergized co-evolved epigenetic relationship observed in high mountain areas is reported for the first time.

Dioscorea deltoidea is an endangered species belonging to family Dioscoreacea, It produce rhizomes or bulbils which is rich in sapogenin steroidal compounds. These compounds have immense medicinal, industrial and commercial importance. D. deltoidea is expectorant and sedative.

Abstract

Pseudospondias microcarpa A. Rich is a tropical tree species, which is not domesticated despite its food and pharmacological potentials. This study aims at introducing its domestication using two types of substrate. The first substrate (S1) is a mixture of compost and local soil while the second substrate (S2) is only made of local soil.

Abstract

Wild berries have remained as an important part of human nutrition. They are rich in essential nutrients, (sugars, fibers, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals), health promoting phytochemicals (phenolics compounds, flavonoids, carotenoids and tannins) and minerals. Berberry spices are a valuable medicinal shrub grown in Asia and Europe.
