Dioscorea deltoidea is an endangered species belonging to family Dioscoreacea, It produce rhizomes or bulbils which is rich in sapogenin steroidal compounds. These compounds have immense medicinal, industrial and commercial importance. D. deltoidea is expectorant and sedative.
